Andrew Ouellette (pictured with Laurie Meheran, Marie Spratlin Hasskarl, and Anne Walluk), a 15 year-old Burlington resident, spent this past Spring working at the Burlington Little League "snack shack" on Library Lane. With his Mom's help, he purchased and stocked the shack with beverages and snacks, then volunteered over 50 hours selling them to players and fans at the games. Andrew kept track of all his expenditures and sales and by the end of the season he had made a profit of $700.

Giving to the community is important to the Ouellette family so Andrew chose to give $350 to the Burlington Friends of the Library and $350 to the Burlington Food Bank. Andrew, who is also a Library volunteer this summer, has decided that his donation will go towards outfitting the new Teen Room. The expansion is expected to be complete by 2017.

We are extremely proud to have Andrew as part of our community and very happy that he has chosen our library to show his appreciation and support.
